Is the Outbreaker Travel Backpack waterproof?

The Outbreaker Travel Backpack is water-resistant, but not waterproof.

The Outbreaker backpack is highly water-resistant, so it will not require a rain cover. Most rain covers are actually not waterproof. Because they have stitched seams, don’t fully enclose the bag, and are made of fabrics with Durable Water Repellant(DWR) coatings, they keep out most of the water most of the time.

The Outbreaker backpack is built from a 4-layer, waterproof sailcloth. This, combined with water-resistant AquaGuard coil zippers, protects your stuff from water damage without the need for a rain cover. The waterproof materials plus the zippers means that it is highly water-resistant, but because it is a sewn product, it is not as waterproof as a dry bag. Water will eventually make its way through the stitching. You will be fine in most weather conditions, but we don’t recommend throwing your bag in a lake. :)
